For 14 years from 1996-2009, even though the project have only about 4 billion VND of budget to run in the whole country, but we try to overcome all obstruction, self motivated, creative and know how to apply socialize model so we have excellence achieve the task from MOH as follow:

Each year, Project steering committee prepare general plan for rabies prevention for the whole nation, send to MOH to acquire approved.

On 24th March 2005, MOH minister Trần thị Trung Chiến signed decision 780/QĐ-BYT about establishing National project on rabies control and elimination steering committee with 13 people, Dr. Nguyễn Trần Hiển, director of NIHE was leader.

General Information

From 1990-1995, base on uncompleted statistic, there were average of 500 death a year due to rabies. Mortality rate per 100.000 population was 0,43, highest among 10 high mortality rate infectious diseases. Dealing with that serious problem, on 7th February 1996, The Prime minister issued instruction 92/TTg to enhancing prevention of rabies.
